Offline Viewing Problem

The Problem

I have received many e-mails from people who have not been able to view the Tabernacle offline. This is due to a inabillity of some versions of Internet Explorer® to view VRML files if the path to those files has a space in it.

I.E. [ C:/my files/tabernacle01.wrl ]

If this is the case with your version, all you will see is the Blaxxun Logo on a black screen, when viewing the Tabernacle offline.

There are two ways to fix this.

Fix Number One

The easiest way to fix this problem is to be sure there are no spaces in the path to the Tabenacle files by re-naming the folders.

I.E. [ C:/my_files/tabernacle01.wrl ]

Either remove the spaces or replace them with an underscore or any other legal file name character.

Fix Number Two

Another way around this problem, is to embed the 3D file inside a HTML file (Web Page). To use this method, simply download this HTML file named "offline.html, from the link below. To do this, right click the link below and choose "Save Target As..." for Internet Explorer. The command is simular for other browsers. Save the file to the directory (folder) in which the Tabernacle files are kept, and double click it. This file MUST be in the same directory (folder) as the tabernacle01.wrl file, or all you will see is the Blaxxun Logo. As of 06/17/04, the offline.html file has been added to the self extracting file that contains the model.
